Appeal to businesses to donate unwanted PPE

Rossendale businesses are being asked to donate unwanted stocks of personal, protective equipment (PPE) to the NHS for frontline staff to use.

The East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group is appealing to businesses that have stocks of PPE that they aren’t currently using due to the Covid19 pandemic.

Already some businesses have made generous donations of PPE stocks to the NHS, which have been redistributed to frontline services and staff who need it most.

Borough urged to join in with clap for NHS workers

The Leader of Rossendale Council is asking everyone in the borough to take part in a nationwide round of applause for NHS workers

Councillor Alyson Barnes is appealing to residents to join in a gesture of thanks to frontline healthcare heroes by taking part in a mass round of applause from their doorsteps, windows and balconies on Thursday at 8pm.

Council Leader, Cllr Alyson Barnes was a visitor to the HARRI truck, the NHS’s health and wellbeing engagement vehicle at Rawtenstall Market on Thursday, August 29.

The mobile truck is an initiative by Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and has been all around East Lancashire.

It is kitted out to provide a full range of advice and information about various health initiatives.

Have your say on NHS policies

NHS East Lancashire and NHS Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are working in partnership with the other six CCGs in Lancashire and South Cumbria to review clinical policies across the region.

The eight CCGs across Lancashire and South Cumbria have all agreed that there is a need to review their policies to: ensure a consistent and fair approach across the region; update current policies in accordance with National Guidelines and best clinical practice and to make sure it is using its limited resources to maximum effect.

New and improved site launches making access to best-rated health apps easier for Rossendale residents

A new and improved version of the ORCHA online platform has recently launched to help the thousands of people in the area who use apps every day to help manage health issues and medical conditions as well as to generally improve their health and wellbeing.
