Don’t Forget to Register to Vote

Rossendale residents are being reminded not to miss the deadline to return vital forms.

During the summer every residential property in the Borough received a household enquiry form, and people that did not respond were then visited by canvass staff during October to try and gather the information that we need to ensure all eligible people are registered to vote.

We are now delivering final reminders to the remaining non-responding properties.  Are you missing from the household enquiry form? Let us know as soon as possible so that you can vote in future elections.

If you are not registered to vote it can affect your credit score and delay applications for mortgages and mobile phone contracts to name a few, and more importantly, you are missing out on your right to have your say on local and national issues.

You can register easily and quickly online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or you can call us on 01706 252445/6. You will need your national insurance number to hand when you register.  If you’ve moved house recently then make sure you apply to register, changing your details for Council Tax does not update the electoral register.
