Council Take Action on Outdoor Laundrette

Published June 9, 2016 at 20:36

Rossendale Council’s Planning Enforcement Team has today served notice on the outdoor laundrette structure at the Nisa Store on Deardengate, Haslingden.

This action comes after thorough investigation from our Planning Department.

The owner has now been asked to remove the launderette facility from the front of the building within the required timeframe.

Unless the enforcement notice is appealed, the structure is required to be removed by 11th August 2016.

Cllr Christine Lamb, Portfolio Holder for Planning said;

Our Planning Enforcement Officers have worked really quickly on this issue which had sparked a lot of public interest and debate. It’s pleasing to be able to sort the issue quickly for all those who were concerned.

The Council takes planning enforcement matters very seriously and will take action on structures that do not comply with planning regulation, where it is expedient to do so.
