Community comes together for Remembrance Services

People gathered all over Rossendale to pay their respects to those who lost their lives in both World Wars and other conflicts.

Moving services and parades took place all over the borough as people paid their respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

On Remembrance Sunday, November 19th, Rawtenstall held the traditional parade in the Town Square before heading to St Mary’s Church for a service. The parade then headed back to the Town Square via St Mary’s Terrace.

In Bacup, the parade started at Bacup Fire Station before heading to the war memorial for a service and wreath laying ceremony.

Helmshore held its parade on Broadway followed by a service at St Thomas Musbury Church,followed by wreath laying at Helmshore War Memorial.

People came together in Market Street, Whitworth and held their parade finishing at the memorial gardens and a Remembrance service.

In Haslingden, the service took place at the war memorial in Greenfield Gardens with a parade on Manchester Road.
