Despite the ongoing bad weather Rossendale Council services are returning to action.

Waste collection crews have been back out this morning, Friday March 2. They are concentrating on main roads and primary gritting routes collecting the backlog from Wednesday, Thursday as well as today’s work.

Please leave bins/bags out for collection and they will be emptied as soon as possible. Any additional side waste left will also be removed.

The One Stop Shop has now re-opened and pre-arranged appointments for today will be honoured. Guests should proceed to reception where you will be greeted.

A Met Office yellow warning for wind and snow is in place for Rossendale for Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd with Police warning people to only travel if necessary. If you have to drive please stay safe and follow ROSPA’s winter driving tips

If you’re going out, remember to wrap up warm and take care on slippery surfaces.  If you have an older neighbour or relative, look out for them to make sure they are safe and well.
